Not open to the public after all.

Part of the agreement with the planning department was the Salthouse Harbour Hotel car park would be left open while Salthouse Lane was closed. As can be seen here the car is locked every night. The first two pics are from Fore Street and the other two are taken from Neptune Quay. I have notified the planning dept but so far nothing has been done.

Well obstructed now unfortunately.

Well the lane has been obstructed for a while now and there are no signs of it being cleared. It is obvious now my legal action is warranted. Mr Gough who owns the Salthouse Harbour Hotel does not appear to care about local people at all. This is another case of an outsider coming here and trampling on the "Rights" of local folks. Such arrogance should be treated accordingly as there are many other places to spend money.

I think this crew are not going to take any notice of me. I took these pics early this morning in desperate hope the whole lot would be gone. Now I have to go bravely where I have never been before unto the Magistrates. I have threatened to serve a S.137 order plenty of times and mostly my bluff works but now I really do have to put up or shut up. I really wanted to take a ride to Harwich today while the weather lasts but instead I will have to spend the day online finding out how to write a complaint to the Magistrates Court. Sometimes I wish I had picked stamp collecting as a hobby instead.

I notice problems as soon as planning permission is granted.

I went into the enclosure and took some pics. The idiot shown in the first 3 pics tried to lift me and my wheelchair out but failed. Eventually a chap in charge took over and a reasonable conversation took place. This workman hadn't any idea it was a RoW apparently as he came from out of town. I made several phone calls to Ipswich Borough Council but as usual they didn't have a clue as they do not have a RoW officer. I also 'phoned Jackson Construction but they also didn't want to know so I faxed Mr. Robert Gough who owns the Hotel and gave him 24 hours to remove the obstruction. He didn't do so and rather called me I suppose which is unfortunate as I have never done a S.137 before and I am not looking forward to all the hassle involved either but now I have to discover how to use a S.137 Highways Act 1980 and that is not what I was hoping for but I suppose it was inevitable. I cannot get it done before Wednesday as I am fully booked and the Magistrates Court open such limited hours. On Monday I spend the morning with my carer at the disability sailing club and afterwards I have an appointment with somebody from the police over a complaint I made about my computers being siezed for 15 months and on Tuesday I am in London all day. Maybe I can squeeze it in Monday somewhere. I am not sure.

Salthouse Lane being obstructed.

I have been writing to the Planning Department of Ipswich Borough Council for quite a long time now as Mr Robert Gough wants to buy the snooker hall and extend his hotel. The Salthouse Harbour Hotel is next door to the snooker hall and when I saw equipment being moved into the lane I started taking pictures to make sure there is a record of what is happening. This is what is classed as a BOAT, a byway open to all traffic. It is a Public Right of Way and must not be obstructed without lawful reason. If Salthouse Lane is blocked without a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order the law is being broken and action must be taken to protect the RoW.
